Thing will get better from here
This first marking period was a struggle at it's best. It was very hard to get things done on time but i managed to do it. We learned about thing's that we already knew but we read an interesting book that seemed less interesting as time went on. Every week or two, we worked on these blogs and kept everything updated on what we were learning. We wrote themes about serious topics and about how certain people can be hero's. My favorite thing that happened during this first marking period was our last theme. I felt so inspired and able to talk about an easy topic like this. My least favorite thing was the blogs. They were hard to keep up with but it helped keeping us hard at work. Overall, this semester wasn't that bad but hopefully next semester will be better!

Good Morning Fire Eater
"Cause it's no good if you can have it all. They're giving back what they never stole" is a lyrics from the song,
Good Morning Fire Eater. I picked this song because of those very lyrics, they can describe the Tom Robinson case.
"Cause there's no good if you can have it all" which would conclude Atticus loseing the case,
and how he can't get everything he wants within the case. "They're giving back what they never stole"
referes to the Ewells and how they won the case just because Tom Robinson was black but they
don't have anything so they never stole anything from anyone. When it comes to certain situations,
you can't always win or get what you want so you just have to deal with the punishment or consequence.

Social Injustice
Social injustice is the definition of unfair. Social Injustice is found all over the world and it's based on, nobody is equal and nobody gets fair advantages. These day's social injustice can happen with black and whites, gay's and lesbians or just about anyone. It's wrong for anyone to be judged or hated when it comes to their background or who they are as a person. Some of the biggest social injustice now-a-days are gay's and lesbians. Gay's aren't allowed to get married to each other or if their seen together, its considered "wrong". Another social injustice is blacks and whites. It's very wrong for whites to call black people a name but when a black man says something to a white person now-a-days, nobody thinks twice about it. Either situation is wrong and shouldn't be tolerated anymore.

Brown vs. Board
Brown vs. Board is about Oliver L. Brown going against the board of education. This civil rights movement helps give African Americans the same education as white men, women and children. This is of the most significant movements in the country. In simple terms, the Brown vs. Board was established because of separate schools for black and white children. To Kill a Mockingbird was written around the time Brown vs. Board was going on. Within the book, everyone is friendly and everyone gets along but if the book was based before the movement, everything would have been different. For Jem and scout in school, they would have been in separate school from African kids. Harper Lee based the book off of how everything would have been after the movement or if the situation had never happened. Thanks to Harper Lee, we can now see life as it was in Maycomb, Alabama once the movement has taken place.

Doubt Connection
Gossip is never good but we all do it. It's human for us to talk about each other behind everyone's back. In To Kill A Mockingbird, there is a lot of gossip on the streets of Maycomb, Alabama. The main thing that is gossiped about is Boo Radley. Boo lives in his house with his brother but never come's out. People say that boo eats animals and would kill you if you came near the house but it's not even true. In the movie doubt, a women was gossiping about someone else, once she felt bad, she went to confession. At confession, the priest said she committed a sin. Gossip is most likely a lie at it's worst, most gossip hurts people when it's being passed around.
